A Beautiful Mess – Part 2
Pursuit Mess
BY NATURE, WE PURSUE WHAT WE DON’T HAVE.
CLEAN UP THE MESS OF PURSUIT
PROMISE #1: I PROMISE THAT GOD WILL BE MY FIRST PRIORITY AND MY SPOUSE WILL BE MY SECOND.
PROMISE #2: I PROMISE TO ALWAYS PURSUE MY TWO.
This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.—Genesis 2:24 (NLT)
My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.—Psalm 63:8 (NKJV)
They are joined fast to one another; they cling together and cannot be parted.—Job 41:17 (NIV)
And they turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon. Five thousand men of them were cut down in the highways. And they were pursued hard to Gidom, and 2,000 men of them were struck down.—Judges 20:45 (ESV)
CLOSE THE GAP BETWEEN INTENTIONS AND ACTIONS
1) WHEN YOU THINK SOMETHING GOOD, SAY IT.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.—Hebrews 3:13 (NIV)
2) WHEN YOU THINK SOMETHING SPECIAL, DO IT.
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.—James 4:17 (NLT)
3) WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING DIFFERENT, BE IT.
- To get what you’ve never had, you must do what you’ve never done.
- To get what you once had, you must do what you once did.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.—Revelation 2:5 (ESV)
PROMISE #2: I PROMISE TO ALWAYS PURSUE MY TWO.
