Partnership Mess

PROMISE #1: I PROMISE THAT GOD WILL BE FIRST PRIORITYAND MY SPOUSE WILL BE MY SECOND.

PROMISE #2: I PROMISE I WILL ALWAYS PURSUE MY TWO.

PROMISE #3: I PROMISE OUR MARRIAGE WILL BE ABOUT “WE” AND NOT “ME”.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.—Genesis 2:24 (ESV)

We have to fix the mess of partnership!

He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, 5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT NOT A CONTRACT

• A covenant is based on mutual commitment.
• A contract is based on mutual distrust.

COVENANT PARTNERSHIP IS SUMMARIZED WITH GODLY LEADERSHIP AND MUTUAL SUBMISSION.

submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.—Ephesians 5:21 (ESV)

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.—Ephesians 5:22–24 (ESV)

Common Vision

Your marriage will be as good as you both decide it will be.
