Psalm 23 (NKJV) – A Psalm of David. 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

WALK

God is not in a hurry; He is never rushed. Neither does God stop for long; He pauses.

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.—Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

THROUGH

A difficult season may slow us down, but should never stop us. Keep moving forward.

When you cross deep rivers…you won’t drown. When you walk through the fire, you won’t be burned.—Isaiah 43:2 (CEV)

VALLEY

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.—John 16:33 (NIV)

The view from the mountains are unmatched, but water only pools in the valleys.

SHADOW

When the Shepherd is all you have, you realize the Shepherd is all you need.

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”—Isaiah 30:21 (NIV)

FEAR

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.—1 John 1:8 (NLT)

Those who truly know their own sinfulness can love others even in their sinfulness.

ROD
The Shepherd’s rod is a tool of:
1. Defense
2. Correction
3. Examination

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.—Psalm 139:23 (NLT)

STAFF
The Shepherd’s staff is a tool of:
1. Gathering
2. Rescue
3. Guidance

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.—John 16:13 (NLT)

YOU

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.—Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.—John 10:11 (NIV)

Jesus is with you today.
Jesus has been with you every day.
Jesus will never stop being with you.
